#KetoDiet #Health #Fitness

About 2 years ago around this time I quit the Keto diet. If you want to know why, watch my video about that here:

But I’ve learnt a lot about health, nutrition and fitness over the last few years and I’d like to share some of my learnings with you. Hope they help you in some way.

  1. Folks please don't misunderstand what I am saying or misquote me please. I apologize if I have not articulated something perfectly. At no point am I saying anything negative about Keto. I'm saying that everything I've said can be incorporated into Keto or frankly any lifestyle you follow. I have very clearly said carbs have a function, that doesn't mean I'm telling you to go and eat candy and sugar and stuff. Carbs exist in vegetables, fruits and even eggs and seafood. They have a function depending on YOUR personal goals. If you are diabetic and they serve no purpose for you that's great. You can totally not eat things without being dogmatic about them is all I'm saying. Please look at the larger picture that I speak about. These are things I learnt over the years and I'm not saying you have to quit Keto or do any particular diet, these are points that work in every single way. You are of course free to disagree with me, follow whatever you want. I'm saying do what is best for you and your body. These are practices that have helped me through certain things. Maybe they will help you and maybe they won't, hopefully at least you'll be entertained. Cheers and be well!

PS: I'm Indian and I live in iNDIA so I've never followed the SAD (Standard American Diet) and when I talk about food that's not Keto or when I talk about carbs I am talking about mostly real food. I can safely say I'm eating whole foods myself. You can follow my FRIDAY weight loss vlogs if you want to see what I eat most of the days. It's food that me and my wife cook, we control what goes into it and it's made from whole foods. We eat sourdough bread, white rice and other carbs and we consume healthy fats as well. Basically I have a balanced diet where protein is the main macro I focus and the other two adjust themselves At the same time won't break our heads if we eat something that is processed once in a while. Hope that helps in understand where I'm coming from.

PPS: For all those throwing the carbs have no function argument. I'm not interested in changing your mind, I speak from my personal experience. As a drummer being on both Keto and carbs I always find my performance to be better when I am consuming carbs. I have energy on Keto but it's not the same. This is my PERSONAL experience, it doesn't mean it has to be yours. If you feel better doing high intensity activity then Keto is definitely the diet for you.

  2. It's not so much about the carbs are bad, it's the amount of them. We replaced fat with our carbs in diets in the 1980s. It's all about the balance. They are finding out new things every day. Yes, food can kill you, ask a diabetic. You're right, sensible is the way to go.

  3. Dude just lost it!! Got so fed up that started calling people raisin. Transition of this channel from Keto to calorie counting. You shouldn't have degraded Keto, grapes and raisins (aka people) Waiting for your rants about loosing subscriber. Oh wait how would I see it myself (unsubscribed)

  4. I live in the US and I love what you had to say. I have come to the same conclusions you have. It's never easy to try to eat in a way that you are not comfortable with and I was not satisfied on keto. I thank you for this video and please don't listen to the negative comments. You are an inspiration to a LOT of people and I can't begin to tell you how much respect I have for you for sharing this information with us. Bless you! 🥰

  5. I would have to respectfully disagree. Our bodies have zero need for carbs. You can get everything you need nutritionally from meats, veggies, fat to fuel your body. All carbs break down into monosaccharides which is sugar. Our ancestors survived a very long time eating virtually no carbs. Plus carbs have literally no nutritional value. Just my thoughts and what i've studied and learned.

  6. I appreciate your advice on making little changes – avoiding the loop of jumping into a major change all at once and knowing that may work for the short-term but if it had worked for the longer term in any of the times I've started a major change then I wouldn't be here still looking for some way to lose weight and eat more healthily. It's too easy to scuttle yourself before you've already begun so thank you for your wise words.

  7. thank you for the video, I went drastic with keto in the beginning, eating the good fats instead of the bad ones but I didn't think I was eating enough fat because I was seeing all the info on fat bombs, etc., etc., and my cholesterol went way up which has never happened for me all my life of 69 yrs. My dr. wanted me to go on meds for it and I said, no to the meds. I said I would change my diet first. I cut my fats and now I;m loosing weight again where before on keto I only lost 10 lbs. over 8 months and stopped.. I'm hoping that with this cutting of the fat that at my next checkup, my cholesterol will be back to normal and even though I've been working out all along, including muscle toning I believe I need to do better with that.

  8. Still do Keto but i do sometimes eat an oreo or a a slice Domino’s pizza. But i still stick to my diet and treat is as a lifestyle. Food is not just food. It can be dangerous to someone who is diabetic or have some other disease. A lot of diseases are because of eating too much food. It has not always been like this. Obesity is a huge problem even in India.
