But instead of dealing with that headache, we’ve made it easy: here are some of the most popular canned soups you can buy, from worst to best. You very well could have grown up eating Dinty Moore soups. Their cans are recognized and their soups created many fond memories over the last 80-plus years. Unfortunately, Dinty Moore Beef Stew is no longer what it used to be even five or ten years ago. The problem will hit you right between the eyes once you open up the can. Dinty Moore Beef Stew went from being one of the beefiest stews around to being almost devoid of beef. Remember those big chunks of beef from your childhood? Well, those chunks have been replaced by smaller, less flavorful flecks of meat. Additionally, Dinty Moore Beef Stew used to have an equal amount of potatoes and carrots. But these days, the quantity of potatoes far outnumber the carrots. To make matters worse, the potatoes don’t have as pleasant of a texture as they used to and the carrots you do find will underwhelm. 1. sissy I love salty soup..we are salt and water .quit scaring people away from salt lefty. All soup has taken a 80% nose dive in flavor..if You weren't so young you'd realise NOTHING tastes as good as it use to..to many GMO's and other flavor and fillers have destroyed all our food.

  2. Campbell's classic chicken noodle soup absolutely doesn't belong anywhere near the top of the list. The chicken is tiny and flavorless, the noodles are mush, and the broth is a salt lick. This version belongs near the bottom just slightly above the Dinty Moore beef stew. The Chunky Campbell's chicken noodle soup is far better.

  3. What I like about "Premium" soups is even though they can be disappointing sometimes in some of the ingredients and often high in salt, the broth used is usually (not always) pretty tasty (this is how they can get away with the higher prices). For example I like using left over cut up pieces of grilled or roasted chicken and a small can of good vegetables (or half can large), and adding them to the chicken soups to up it's game, the added volume lowers the overall amount of salt and simmered takes on the broths flavor.

  4. Campbells soups outstanding??? This was decided end of a night where all the reviewers got higher then the Himalayas and could find no other food after the munchies hit them for a few hours of no food? And they stumbled upon a bunch of campbells cans? That chicken alone resembles no chicken on the planet, ramen packs are jealous of the salt and of course infused with salt its hard sooo bad.
