  1. Made this myself today. Simmered my broth for 8 hours. Added a thumb-sized nugget of yellow rock sugar.
    Pretty disappointed. Broth ended up tasting like mushroom water. Hard to believe that something so fragrant could end up tasting so bland.
    3/10 Would not recommend.
    Don't know how vegan restaurants make their pho taste so good, but this recipe is a whole lot of work for a majorly disappointing broth.

  2. Tried pho for the 1st time a few weeks ago and knew my life/diet was changed forever. The first time my mouth's started watering from watching a video too. After seeing the shrooms and searing the radishes and onions I knew I was hooked. Can't wait to try it myself…thanks! A beautiful video too!!!

I feel like recently a lot of the commenters who watch vegan tasty videos expect to only come across vegan haters (I know there there are a lot of them but hear me out) to the point that they’ll comment negatively for people to stop hating even when there aren’t any haters to begin with. I understand why people feel the need to say it (I think it should stop too) but it makes me kind of sad that it’s come to a point where you really only can expect negative or angry comments when watching a vegan or vegetarian video.

  4. Made this tonight for a vegan friend. I cook asian food quite often and i followed the recipe exactly, but after 8 hours i was left with a slightly mushroom/aromatic flavoured water which was SO bland, even after seasoning and adding the fresh ingredients on top. We only managed a few mouthfulls each but ended up chucking it and having beans on toast instead 👍
