Chickpea – 2-3 cups
Soak them overnight and cook the next morning
or you can use canned Chickpeas pre-cooked
Onion – 1
Garlic – 8-10 cloves
Chillies – green and red – 4-6 (gives a colourful look with its own spicy taste)
Turmeric – 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Tomato Puree – 2 cups
Salt – to taste
Coconut Milk – 1 cup
Coriander leaves – finely chopped
Takes only 15-20 mins to prepare once if you have the cooked to soft chickpeas. If you don’t have a pressure cooker you can use a saucepan and cook chickpeas to soften.
Best goes with sticky rice, parboiled – Jasmine rice, naan, roti or any bread of your choice.
