Welcome to Bonita’s Kitchen!
Today we will be making Orange Jelly Salad, this is a delicious salad we would make years ago to have with our Cold Plates.

Ingredients:
2- 85g Packs of Orange jell-o or jelly
2- Cups boiling water
1 1/2- Cups orange juice
1/2- Cup white vinegar
4- Tbsp. lemon juice
Pinch sea salt
1- (398ml) Tin pears cube or 2- (10oz) Tins of mandarin oranges, drained
2- Cups crushed or tidbit pineapples, drained
3 to 4 Medium carrots, grated

Method:

1 Combine in a large bowl  jelly, hot water, orange juice, vinegar, lemon juice and a pinch of sea salt, mix well.
2 Stir until dissolved, then put in the fridge for 45 minutes to 1 hour or less until slightly thickened.
3 Remove from fridge and add the following ingredients, grated carrot, pineapple, pears or oranges fold together until evenly combined.
4 Pour into a mould or bowl of choice, place back into the fridge let set overnight.
5 When ready to serve remove from the fridge place a plate on top and slowly flip over the mould, tap lightly to release from mould or bowl.
6 If using a silicone pan pull the side open a little after you flipped it over, if using a glass bowl you may need to place bowl in warm water for a minute or less then flip over into a plate or platter.

Helpful Hints: You can use any colour of jello and use any type of ingredients that you like to put in your salad. For example: If you want to make a veggie jelly salad, use green jello and mixed vegetables. If you like to make a christmas or Valentine salad use red jello and cherries, strawberries, or fruit of choice.
