EVERYDAY IS TACO TUESDAY WHEN YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE KETO TORTILLAS

We regularly eat keto tacos or burritos for dinner. I usually have a taco salad or use store bought low carb tortillas. I don’t like using the store bought tortillas because they have gluten in them but I get bored of taco salads. So I decided to search for the best keto tortillas recipes on the internet.

I asked google for some keto tortillas recipes and I found four recipes that had the most/best reviews. I decided to show you how to make each low carb tortillas recipe and then rate each one according to appearance (does it look like a tortilla), taste (does it taste like a tortilla) and ease of making (was it easy to follow, have lots of ingredients or special equipment). Each keto taco shell recipe was rated on a scale of 1 to 5. A 5 is the highest score.

I made chicken tacos using the same ingredients on each keto taco shell in order to rate them fairly. This video was not sponsored by anyone….these are my honest reviews.

  1. Thank you for your testing Keto tortillas. I cannot eat anything with psyllium husk or xantham gum as I have problems with my oesophagus. I have come across a very simple recipe on YouTube that uses only 2 natural ingredients. If you’re interested you will find it on YouTube. I am not mentioning name as I don’t know the protocol for such things 🇬🇧🇬🇧

  2. I watched a video this morning posted 1 year ago by Joe Duff The Diet Chef of almost the same recipe you made first, he used 1 whole egg and a little hot water. He wrapped his dough in plastic and let it rest awhile so the phylum husk "does it's magic" then made the tortillas. The Best GF and probably not low carb tortillas I like to make take one medium yucca root, peeled, chopped and boiled to fork tender, drain, then mashed. One Green plantain, peeled, chopped and mashed. Mix the prepared yucca and plantain together to make a nice dough. I use a tortilla press with parchment paper to flatten them. Then fry on a hot skillet. I use my flat cast iron. Just cook about a minute or so per side. I personally don't like anything I make that has coconut flour and or a bunch of eggs. Dr. Gundry has a excellent GF bread recipe in his book called The Plant Paradox Family cookbook. I own both of his book. Anyone wanting a delicious GF bread should get his book just for that recipe alone. It does contain yeast so it has that real homemade bread taste and smell and it's also a sturdy bread that will hold up to anything you put on it. I haven't made french toast or bread pudding with it tho.
