I make garbanzo soup, but I puree it. The bread being pounded in the mortar and added to the soup is always delicious. I did it before with a chicken/shrimp stew and came out very good. Thank for the recipe I will try it next time I make garbanzo soup.

03/01/22 This is superb, Albert. I ran across this recipe this morning and knew I needed to make it ASAP. I am a garbanzo bean lover. I had to pressure cook my garbanzo beans so it took a little longer for me to make. I had everything except the red pepper. I left it out. Your thickener is exceptional. The egg took it over the top. I even grated my tomatoes like you did. What a treat this stew is. 💖 I knew I'd love it when I saw your video and I do love it and you. 🤗Thank you so much. This recipe is outstanding.

Ah, Querido Alberto, thanks for remembering that those of us from the U.S. still don't weigh ingredients when cooking! I suspect that my version of your stew is lacking in flavor xq smoked paprika doesn't seem to be available in the Central American country where I live these days. Another tip for those concerned about eggs(which I completely believe is misinformation as eggs are such a complete health package in itself and made by Gods design) you can purée a can of drained cannelloni beans and add to stews or soups for thickening. Same with retried beans to chili. Added nutrition and fiber)

I would love to make this as we both love garbanzos(chickpeas) however is there an alternative vegetable that can be used instead of the red and green Peppers as my hubby can't eat them?
