‘SHORBA’ is a very popular Ramadan food in the Saudi Arabia. Basically it’s a Oats & Chicken soup. Everyone must include this food in their Iftar menu chart. There are different recipes to make SHORBA, as every cook adds his or her own touch to it. Besides, Shorba— also written as’ Shurabah’— is not only eaten in the Saudi Arabia, but also in Arabian Peninsula. Don’t forget to bookmark this recipe in your Ramadan Recipe Collection. ∎ RECIPE: ∷ Ingredients, Oats, 1/2 cup, Chicken – 250g, Onion Chopped, 1 cup, Garlic Paste – 1 Tsp, Ginger Paste – 1/2 Tsp, Chili Powder – 1 Tsp ● Carrot Paste – 1/2 Cup ● Cumin Seeds – 1/2 Tsp ● Cloves – 2 pcs Cinnamon – 2 Pcs Bay Leaf – 1 Pc Cardamom – 2 Pc Black Pepper Powder – 1/2 Tsp Salt – As needed ● Vegetable Oil – As Needed ● Coriander Leaves – As Needed ● Lemon – 1 Pc ● Water ∷ Method 01. First make a spice mini-pack with cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves and cardamom. Put four spices in a cloth and tie it with yarn. It is best to make the mini-pack with a thin cotton cloth. 02. Heat the pan and add vegetable oil. Pour cumin seeds and stir for 2 minutes. Then stir in ginger-garlic paste for another 2 minutes. 03. Now you have to give up chicken. Cook well for 5 minutes. 04. Stir in the powdered chilies for 2 minutes. Then stir in carrot paste for 2 minutes and stir in tomato paste for another 2 minutes. 05. Now pour the water. Then cook for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, open the lid and if you think you need more water, give it. But hot water. Then drop the spice mini-pack made of cloth, add salt. Then continue to burn for 10 minutes. 06. The chicken was boiled, but not loose. Chicken meat should be loosened. So shake a little and continue to burn for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the meat is almost loose. Need to loosen more. 07. Now add oats. Serve with black pepper powder. Cover again and cook for 10 minutes. 08. After 10 minutes, first remove the spice mini-pack. Then see if the water has thickened like soup, if the meat has become more loose. If not, you have to give more fuel. And if it is good. Sprinkle with coriander leaves. Then stir for 2 minutes. 09. Now serve.
