I am Puerto Rican and our main dish for beans are Habichuelas aka red kidneybeans, also as a Puerto Rican we add sofrito to everything which is a paste mixture of bell peppers, garlic, onions, tomatoes and cilantro that you puree. We also add a can of tomato sauce. But I'm open to change so I will try this recipe lol

  2. Not sure why you titled this "Puerto Rican Beans lol?" Your ingredients were more definitely more Mexican. I am Puerto Rican and have never seen Puerto Rican beans made this way vegan or not. . . it is not even sautéed. Where's the liquid? The main point of the Puerto Rican beans is the "juice" which your recipe or at least final results show none. Again, why call this Puerto Rican Beans? Perhaps Spanish bean recipe would be more suited.
