Moong dal salad | Healthy snacks or side dish | Kosambari recipe | No Oil – vegan salad

Yellow Moong Dal Salad is a healthy and delicious salad made with soaked moong dal and vegetables. Here’s a recipe you can try:

▶️▶️Ingredients:

1/2 cup yellow moong dal
3/4 cucumber, chopped
1/2cup, grated carrot
1/4cup, grated coconut
2tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Lemon juice to taste

▶️▶️Instructions:

In a bowl soak yellow moong for an hour. Rinse well and strain it using strainer.
In a large plate/mixing bowl, combine the sprouted moong dal, chopped cucumber, grated carrot, grated coconut, green chili,lemon juice.
Mix everything well.
Note: Add salt just before serve the salad.
Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes before serving.

🔷Note:(Optional) You can also tempering the salad with oil, mustard seeds, red chilli’s and curry leaves

  2. Very nicely shown kosambari. It is a very traditional salad / side dish in Karnataka and a favourite during Ugadi / Ramanavami.

    These days salads are my main dishes. I often make kosambari. Recently I had made this with cucumber, carrot and green cabbage. I added some grated ginger along with chillies and tempered it with mustard and hing. Very tasty and filling.
