Moong dal salad | Healthy snacks or side dish | Kosambari recipe | No Oil – vegan salad
Yellow Moong Dal Salad is a healthy and delicious salad made with soaked moong dal and vegetables. Here’s a recipe you can try:
▶️▶️Ingredients:
1/2 cup yellow moong dal
3/4 cucumber, chopped
1/2cup, grated carrot
1/4cup, grated coconut
2tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Lemon juice to taste
▶️▶️Instructions:
In a bowl soak yellow moong for an hour. Rinse well and strain it using strainer.
In a large plate/mixing bowl, combine the sprouted moong dal, chopped cucumber, grated carrot, grated coconut, green chili,lemon juice.
Mix everything well.
Note: Add salt just before serve the salad.
Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes before serving.

Very nicely shown kosambari. It is a very traditional salad / side dish in Karnataka and a favourite during Ugadi / Ramanavami.
These days salads are my main dishes. I often make kosambari. Recently I had made this with cucumber, carrot and green cabbage. I added some grated ginger along with chillies and tempered it with mustard and hing. Very tasty and filling.

My manglorean neighbor made this one day and it taste awesome. But one doubt raw moong dal won't be gastic? Can we keep soak moong dal in hot water for some time just to soften?
