Here we are to explore how to make tasty and healthy low glycemic load recipes, especially for diabetics. You don’t need to sacrifice taste if you have diabetes, you just need to explore options. In this video, we will learn to make Masala Idli from Nutroactive Mineral Salt to taste. The approximate glycemic load of the recipe will be 1.5 which is given at the end of the video.

Masada Idli

Makes 7

Diabexy dosa mix 1 cup

Water 1 cup

Baking soda ½ tsp

Oil 4tsp

Jeera 1 tsp

Mustard seeds 1 tsp

Red chilli powder ½ tsp

Haldi ¼ tsp

Jeers powder 1 tsp

Garam Masala ½ tsp

Coriander powder ½ tsp

Salt as per taste

Green chili chopped 1

Coriander leaves to garnish

Make the idli batter as shown in the video.

Grease the idli plate with some oil.

Add baking soda to the idli batter. Mix well until it bubbles very slightly.

Add batter to the idli plate. Measure the batter according to size of the idli plate. It should fill ¾ of the size of the idli mold.

Steam at high temp for 12-14 mins.

Cool the idli once cooked and fluffy.

In a wok add oil. Once it is hot add the jeer and mustard seeds. Let it crackle. Add the chopped chilies.

Reduce the heat and add all the masalas mentioned.

Chop the cooled idli into medium size pieces and toss in the wok. Finish with salt and coriander.
