Do you think it’s possible to make one large danish with this like the Kringle of Marie Emmerich? I was thinking of making a cream cheese “apple” filling… I use chayote squash for a “apple” crisp and I’m dying to try a “apple” danish!

Here's what happened. I made these yesterday. Rolled the dough and put the filling on and was ready to put into the oven when I turned around and discovered that I hadn't added the butter and sweetener to the dough. Nothing I could do about it at the point. So I baked it as it was. I ended up putting the 2 oz cream cheese into the butter mixture and used it for the frosting. (it thickened up nicely) The pastry texture came out beautifully even without the missing ingredients. I made 7 of them from one recipe. I will definitely be making them again. Next time I will use almond extract and some slivered almonds on top. Thanks for a fantastic recipe.
I made this recipe two days ago. And it was good warm but when I ate one cold it was perfect! Thank you for sharing!! I also made your pigs in a blanket dough for pizza today! LMAO. I don't know if it was intentional or if he was having an off day, or if CJ is usually that reserved but I have to tell you the facial expression as he gazed skeptically at the danish before trying it had me rolling. Then the unenthusiastic nod after was perfect to say "yup just as I thought…a fake cheese danish. Not bad but never the same." I can relate so much!
