I love Dimsum. The mild yet flavourful snack is almost like a comfort food for me. I did not grow up eating dimsum but it still gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. The almost flavourless wrapper with a soft texture and the warm and mildly seasoned filling still come together to make a highly flavourful dish. I have been trying to replicate it ever since I have been on keto. I tried making dumpling or dim sum wrapper out of psyllium husk and coconut flour. And needless to say it melted while steaming it. Then I tried a flaxseed wrapper and pan fried it. It did hold up well but it was too strong a flavour for the mild filling. It will work better as a samosa wrapper I guess. Finally I gave in and like everyone else, I went for the cabbage wrapper. It works like a dream. So much easier to handle and tastes just as good and is much more healthy.
