If you come to a Turkish restaurant you’ve probably seen this ezme salad or kind of meze serves as an appetizer. It is a hot, finely chopped tomato salad with herbs and special sauce. Very easy to make and goes extremely well with grilled meat and or fresh lavash bread.
Ingredients for Ezme Meze Salad:
2 big tomatoes
1 medium onion
2-3 mild hot or sweet green pepper
half sweet red pepper
1 clove garlic
handfull of fresh parsley, mint (optionally purple basil)
1 tbsp hot red pepper paste (It might be too hot so add it carefully or if you don’t prefer you can use sweet red pepper paste too)
about 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
about 3 tbsp olive oil
salt to taste
1 tsp dried mint

Tried to buy pomegranate molasses at my local Turkish store in London. They had never heard of it and sold me Oncu Nar Aromah Sos, some pomegranate-flavored glucose syrup product that all the Turkish restaurants supposedly use. True?
