Home cooked diabetic dog food recipe

Dog food for diabetic dogs is hard to come by and those that seem appropriate may be very costly and end up spiking your dogs blood glucose levels.
So after scouring the internet and finding food that I needed for Nyx to ensure he stayed healthy and were in the low band on the glycemic index I have created a few lovely homemade recipes using a slow cooker so it is very little effort.
This is the first of many recipes and I will share them all with you 🙂

Recipe:
1/2 cup red lentils
1/2 cup brown rice
Sweet potatoes
Carrots
Apples
Lamb lung
Garlic (2 cloves)

  1. The vet told me not to give them anything that’s sweet, so apples, sweet potatoes, and carrots. I’m afraid he does not want to eat those kibbles that the doctor prescribed so instead of gaining some kind of weight he’s losing a lot more because he will not eat.
