Healthy Vegan Pesto Sauce Oil-free, Nut-free

Pesto
4 oz fresh basil
1 avocado
¼ cup pumpkin seeds
2 cloves garlic
4 tbsp certified organic nutritional yeast
1 tsp salt ( or to your taste)
½ lemon juiced
Water to consistency

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add small amounts of water to adjust consistency. Enjoy!

  1. Came here from the vegan mayo video. Had everything for this pesto on hand so just made it up, and man is it delicious! As you've said before, the key to eating and enjoying plant based food– especially vegetables– is to have some healthy, delicious sauces to pair with them. This pesto is going straight into the recipe book, and I'm sure the mayos will as well once I get around to making them. Thanks, Javant! Hi Javant, I just love your recipes… thank you for all you do… Just a note about the recipe in your description – it says to use Pistachos, which are nuts, and in your video it looks like you’re using Pumpkin Seeds (great idea). Also, Salt is on the list twice, so I’m assuming 1/2-1 tsp, or to taste? Thank you again!❤
