  1. I make a combination of sticky rice and amaranth (50/50), boil in twice as much water as grains. Only after the cooking is completed, add salt (1/2 tsp per cup of grain), and vegetable oil or butter. If you add salt or oil or many other things while amaranth cooks, it slows the absorption of the water. Then add chopped vegetables (raw or steamed or stir-fried).
