2 Onions, chopped
3 Tomatoes, chopped
1 Capsicum, chopped
4 Potatoes, chopped with skin on
½ cup Peas
2 Whole dried red chillies, (remove seeds)
8 pods of Garlic
1 cup Cauliflower, chopped
1 Carrot, chopped
2-3 tsp. Pav Bhaji Masala
1 tsp. Oil
Whole Wheat Pav

– Steam the vegetables in a steamer.
– Grind the red paste ingredients to a smooth paste in mixer/grinder.
– In a kadai heat oil and add cumin seeds, onion, salt, capsicum, tomato, red paste and mash it well.
– Now add the Pav-Bhaji Masala and mix well.
– Mash the vegetables and add them to the masala.
– Add salt, water from the steamer and mash again.
– Once mixed properly, turn the flame off and lemon juice.
– Serve with Whole Wheat Pav.

Nutritious and healthy Pav Bhaji is ready to eat!

  1. Just half a teaspoon oil & no use of ghee too.. I know refined oils are not good for us but atleast one can use 1 1/2 – 2tspn coldpress oil or ghee for substitute.. Healthy fats in food is required otherwise there will be serious joints & skin problem in the future! And also without them the nutrition won't get observed in the body! Also it will cause stomach gas problem, acidity problems, indigestion,constipation.. & Also using too much cashew as a cream is not healthy! Too much cashewnuts can increase one's weight, migraine issue, blood sugar level, destroy the nutrition balance of other food materials,etc.

  2. Hi Nupur ,I tried steaming my veggies and used the water in my pav bhaji ,also did the garlic red chilli paste as shown,only thing I couldn't resist adding butter so added some but its so yummy with lovely taste of the steamed veggies.Ill only be making as shown now.Thank you.
