French onion soup is a soup featuring cheese, onions, bread, beef broth and soup. It is a good soup to eat and also a good soup to drink. Book + Award Winning Website Subscribe: I used this recipe with slight variations on most ingredients, no flour.

I'm sure it's very tasty.
As a fhqwgad I think this recipe was cooked.
I am learning the "Atleast 2 tabsp of butter everytime you turn on the gas" for French cooking in culinary school rn. Exhausting
You didn't do anything wrong in the comments!
I don't mean to nitpick, but you forgot to add a handful of chopped wild pineapples.
u should have provided entertainment for the onions while they caramelized, this makes them happy.
that thyme in a small hole trick had me JAW DROP. thats so smart
Well done! And Hilarious 😂
Wormification is a sacred french art
As a professional french onion fondler, I feel satisfied with your methods. Good job.
Your chef does not come the Froignion region of France so I’m afraid this is merely sparking onion juice.
You didn't try hard enough. try harder next time ok?
Caramelize the onions in a crock pot
That looks disgusting.
Yea you forgot the onions. 🙁
As the most famous Czech chef Láďa Hruška, I suggest adding a skin from two whole chickens
You did great and I love you
I expected a barrett to be included somewhere. "I am Jack's utter disappointment"
Pour moi c'est parfait ! Bravo Monsieur !
Leave it to the French to make the nasty tasting onion the focal point of soup
American Onion soup uses a package of dried onion soup rehydrated with Smuckers caramel ice cream topping, a slice of Wonder bread with a Kraft single melted over everything. It’s terrible but it’s OUR terrible!
I made this recipe. I didn't have any thyme so I substituted carrot tops. Also I forgot I needed gruyere so I went with some cream cheese. And the onions I had were rotten so I just used rutabaga which were also round. I have to say, I really didn't enjoy this recipe. 0/10, would not make this again. What a waste of time and money!
Hi, French chef here.
You crowded the pot, the onions fell apart and they didn't get dark enough.
Probably still tastes incredible though.
I’m definitely a real chef who cooks foods and such. You crushed it 👍
I, Chef Famous Chef declare this dish BUSSIN (professionally)
As a non-French French non-chef chef i must say i am absolutely cordon bleu with rage that you did not follow the correct traditional steps of this recipe. First, you did not use the correct blend of vidalia, yellow, sweet, pearl and walla walla onions. Second, you did not use the perfected flick of the left wrist when sturing that imparts the gastrointestinally correct flavor to the soup!!!!!

According to you Frans don't give a about dietary restrictions, or prefrinsis.

Now through all my years and training in other fields besides chefology I feel I can bestow the secrets of the darker texture of the French onion soup (known as Splishy Splashy Frunion in the French underground cooking gangs) is by using a darker crayon to colour the onions in the video's post production editing stage.
The amazing thing about metric is how you can tell 0.00000635 km is 0.635 cm just from context
Seriously. I mainly cook Indian food but very poorly.
This video taught me that it is okay to leave the dang onions in the pot, they will melt eventually 🤣🤣
