Keto is a lifestyle, which means that we aren’t going to be 100% perfect everything. For whatever reason, there will be times you fall off keto. That’s OKAY!! Like with any way of eating, there will be times you get off track. That’s why it’s called a lifestyle.

When it happens, the best thing to do is to get back on the next meal; however, sometimes those sugar and carb cravings are intense. In this video, I share what I eat to get back on track.

KETO JALAPENO POPPERS
12 jalapenos
8 ounces of cream cheese
24 Lit’l Smokies beef sausages
24 strips of bacon

1️⃣ Cut the top off of all the jalapenos. Slice each jalapeno lengthwise. Using a spoon or jalapenos corer, remove all the ribs and seeds from the inside of each jalapeno. Rinse the jalapenos under cold water to make sure all the ribs and seeds are removed.
2️⃣ Scoop about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese into each jalapeno half. Place a Lit’l Smokie sausage on the cream cheese of the jalapeno. Tightly wrap each jalapeno with bacon.
3️⃣ Place the poppers in a rimmed baking sheet covered with aluminum foil. Bake in the oven or grill for at least an hour

I think you should embrace the idea that you do keto as a way to get healthy and once you have a total understanding of what foods are poison such as cane sugar and you are focused on your goal then you pretty much don't even think about a "cheat" meal just remember why you are doing this way of life and what you are trying to accomplish and I agree beating yourself up over it doesn't do anyone any good because it's done.. when I started keto my thought was to loose weight… NOW it's to get healthy and once you figure that out the weight melts off plus IF is a big help

  2. We do like them spicy… and I slice or chop the jalapeños, put them in a baking dish, cover them with diced bacon and bake. Right before they are done, take them out and cover with grated mozzarella. Bake a little more until cheese is melted and bubbly! These are a regular at my house, and you can easily reheat them IF YOU HAVE ANY LEFT!!!

  3. I love this video so much. If I do my keto clean, it will kill all cravings. Conversely, if flour and sugar is creeping in, then I start having visions of donuts. I go have the donuts and instantly know each bite will haunt me the next day. Wake up like a crazed junkie and congested as heck. But gone is all that feeling like a bad person. That model doesn’t work.

  4. We make Poppers on a regular basis! I always add shredded Cheddar cheese and a little garlic salt. It adds so much more flavor. During hunting season, my boys would add seasoned Goose to their poppers. Will have to try the Lit'l Smokies. Thanks for sharing!

  5. I make a version of these without the sausage and I also add Parmesan cheese and garlic powder to softened cream cheese. I make a bunch at once and freeze them so they’re easy to take out and cook a few at a time. I cook them at 425 for 20 minutes. Yum!

  6. I use a grapefruit spoon to scrape out the seeds. We also bake the jalapenos for 10 minutes in a 300 degree oven then put them in ice water to take out some of the heat. Here we add chopped brisket. When they are done we call them Texas Twinkies!! A big favorite here!

  7. Has anyone ever done Keto after having the gastric bypass? I had it 3 yrs ago and my nutritionist and dr said for me not to do keto but its the same foods I'm supposed to eat anyways lol! I've got 30lbs of regain and I feel like such a failure, I can't stand it! 😭 Thank you for sharing and I love your videos as they're easy to follow! ❤

  8. Love it and it will apply to so many and KUDOS to you for reaching out and encouraging others.

    Sadly, there are some of us that simply cannot do this at all. SOME of us.

    Like myself and others, that have been insulin dependent for over 20 years and realizing I was SO metabolically sick for so long I have to consider myself a carbohydrate addict and simply cannot fall off the wagon.

    For ME and with all the negative responses I may get, I certainly am not perfect by any means, but I am finally reversing diabetes and limit carbs to under 10 TOTAL a day.

    After failed cataract surgeries, necrotizing facetious surgeries and many more things, I'm finally healing and there are no donuts and birthday cakes for me ever again as it would be like give. recovering alcoholic a drink to celebrate. I'm finally off insulin, once weighed 380 and now 230 and I'm not going back for any reason that I can help. 🙂

    For those that can fall off the wagon sometimes, and I know that is many people, best of luck and this IS great advice.

  9. Being vegetarian, I’ll pass on the bacon and smokies. And flavour the jalapeños and cream cheese with some sugarless shaker of spice mix. And roll it in either zucchini or eggplant. Thanks Annie. There are days when after eating carbs, you want to get back on track with keto. This a good standby.

  10. Great video! You're touching on the one fatal flaw with keto; it isn't sustainable. Everyone loves the initial results of keto, weight loss, lowered blood sugar, call me crazy but here's the secret of a healthy life: eat small portions of healthy food and walk 1/2 hour a day. Most importantly, find mental health. Follow something that brings peace of mind such as Buddhism, Christianity…something that brings peace to you. Studies of those that are long-lived show that they are happy…doesn't really matter what they eat.

I fell off the keto wagon a year ago .because vi I was getting worried about being on it because I’m on thyroid meds and migraine meds..and plus I was struggling with it.i was and still I’am fasting everyday.like i just did a fast yesterday my first meal was dinner.can you help me get back on ? And is thyroid meds safe on keto?
