– 2 cups Water
– 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
– 1/2 tsp Salt
– 10-12 Kokum (dried)
– 3 Drumsticks (cut & peeled)
– 1 1/2 tsp Peanuts
– 4 tbsp Coconut (grated)
– 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
– 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
– 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
– 2 Dry Red Chillies
– 8-10 Curry Leaves
– 1 tsp Ginger Paste
– 1 tsp Garlic Paste
– 1 Onion (sliced)
– 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
– 3/4 tsp Sambar Masala
– Salt
– Coriander Leaves (chopped)

  1. Does anyone you know use a vegetable peeler to remove the fibrous skin? It seems like it would be much faster and more efficient, especially with the newer, ultra-sharp ceramic kind. Is there a drawback to using a peeler? I just bought my very first drumstick this afternoon for making Sambal. I hadn't found it in Atlanta before today at any Indo-Pak grocery stores.
