Doctor Mike Tries KETO for 30 DAYS


The Ketogenic or Keto diet has gotten A LOT of media coverage in the last few years. I decided to follow up my original Keto video with one where I actually try out the diet for myself.

I was not surprised that the keto diet was difficult to stick to because of the restrictive nature of it. However, the weight loss and other benefits were definitely noticed and fairly early on into the diet.

  1. Strict keto is unsustainable.. that’s why “lazy keto” is a lifestyle change not necessarily a diet. I have much more energy and I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been making these lifestyle changes. And I eat everything I want! There is a “keto” replacement for everything.

  2. Dr Mike, you could have had some nice green salad with your cat food. Keto is not extreme like that. A good portion of protein with fat and greens is the way to go and you shouldn't have felt tired or hungry so much! And a vodka tonic won't kill you … I think you have keto wrong. You should have been eating something like a nice wild salmon and green salad …. You should redo this video with a more realistic version of keto x

So i m doing intermediate fasting (18-6) and 2 means a day (dinner-lunch) lotta carbs 2k calories and i m losing 0.8-0.9kg/week can't believe keto is that hard 😂😂(no meats btw) oh ya i also waked up early in morning but it's not cause of keto imo it's cause of intermediate fasting btw gotta tell you guys I used to think losing weight is hardest thing but after doing this and losing my weight rapidly I feel it's so easy and motivational 😂

  4. I'd like to see you do a 30-day keto 2.0 diet I believe that's keto with very lean meat and low sugar low carbs. To me in moderate portions seems like it would be a very healthy diet what do you think? I really want to know because I'm prediabetic and cardiac issues. Thanks love your Channel. And my grandson loves your silly ones LOL

  5. Doctor, could you please shed some light on this Lion Diet that's circulating now? A modified carnivorous diet designed for you to live basically on meat, salt and water. That goes against everything we're taught about how good vegetables are for you and it's making me crazy that it's so popular, and the mountains of people validating it for physical, mental and emotional health.

  6. started low carb , no sugar in October of 2021. Lost about 5 lbs a week. some times less. Went from 205 to 155 . Now, i still stay with a lower carb and sugar intake to maintain the weight . still have a little stomach and side fat. I am 53. Can see 4 of my 6 pack. lol

  7. I think he was being too strict? Also, you're not meant to be hungry on keto if you're eating properly. You're right when you said you 'don't plan well', cause if you did, you would have remembered intermittent fasting and eaten big filling meals. I don't know where you are getting the 'you need to eat low protein on keto' though? because I've heard that you need a lot of it on the diet. Anyways, keep calm and keto on.
