Custard Tart | Sugar Free Sundays with Sanjeev Kapoor | Episode 4 | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana


This sweet-treat recipe is surely going to tantalise your inner Masterchef! So are you ready to elevate your dessert game?

If you always catch yourself thinking “a moment on the lips, forever on the hips” whenever you’re going to indulge in something sweet, these delectable Custard Tarts are the perfect sweet indulgence for you! These bite sized delights pack a rich, creamy, fruity flavour that is bound to impress your taste buds. But the great thing about these tarts is that not only do they help you in portion control (with their cute little bite-sized goodness), they also have ABSOLUTELY NO SUGAR! That’s because they are sweetened with Sugar Free Green – a sweetener made from 100% Natural Stevia Leaves from the house of @SugarfreeIndia



2-3 tbsps vanilla custard powder
12 readymade tart shells
¾ cup milk
6-8 strawberries
13 measures Sugar Free Green
2-3 tbsps dried rose petals
1 cup unsweetened whipped cream
Blanched and slivered pistachios for garnish


1. Take milk in a bowl. Add vanilla custard powder and whisk well.
2. Heat a nonstick pan. Add the milk mixture and cook on low heat till thick.
3. Roughly chop strawberries and add to the pan. Add ¼ cup water and cook on medium heat for 5-6 minutes.
4. Add 9 measures Sugar Free Green to the custard mixture and mix well.
5. Add dried rose petals to the strawberry mixture and mix well.
6. Transfer the custard mixture in a bowl and allow to cool. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
7. Add remaining Sugar Free Green to strawberry mixture and mix well.
8. Fill up the tarts with strawberry mixture.
9. Add whipped cream to the custard mixture and whisk well. Fill this mixture in a piping bag fitted with star nozzle and pipe on top of strawberry layer.
10. Garnish with blanched pistachios and serve.
