    I would like to add two more to this. Using chow chow (Seemebadanekayi) instead of pumpkin, make palya in the same way as shown for pumpkin.

    Substitute gorikayi (cluster beans) for alasande and prepare in the same method.

    We in the south part of Karnataka including Bangalore, prepare a palya with sabbasige soppu, hurulikayi and thogari bele, take out the water after boiling them and make bassaru from that with the palya as side dish. Bassaru goes very well with mudde and rice.
