Carnivore / Ketovore Pancake – No Almond Flour or Coconut Flour – 1g net carbs each!

Since January is “World Carnivore Month”, I thought I’d whip up a little something for my carnivore and ketovore brothers and sisters.

I got a version of this recipe from one of my viewers, Donna Gorman-Newell. I made some tweaks on the ingredients and the cooking method and came up with a pancake that my non-keto wife and daughter thought was a real pancake.

  1. Two questions I've been getting a lot in the comments:
    1) Can I use Knox gelatin instead of beef gelatin? From the people who have tried this, I have been told that their batter didn't thicken up and their pancakes didn't rise. This is the brand I use: and I will be using it in future recipes/videos.

    2) Can I make this in Dash mini or waffle maker? Possibly. My Dash mini products run at 370F. These pancakes cook best at 325F. I did one in the Dash mini waffle maker and the exterior of the waffle got VERY dark before the interior was cooked to my satisfaction.

  2. Can you do a complete review on miracle berry? It’s a fruit or tablet that makes sour things taste sweet through a glycoprotein binding to your sour and bitter receptors on the tongue making a lemon or lime taste like candy. By complete review I mean personal opinion, a glucose and ketone test, a taste trip test, and any other information that would be good/helpful to know. I’ve been using it the past few days to make lemon water taste like lemonade and ACV drinks taste like actual apple cider, but I want to make sure it’s not a “too good to be true” kinda thing. Thanks! ((I’m not a bot I’m just copy and pasting the same thing on multiple videos))

  3. I know you have been contemplating more in-depth on iron cookware, and I had asked about seasoning iron. Since you're technically leaning, I thought you might be interested in these links: – Chemistry of Cast Iron Seasoning: A Science-Based How-To – a discussion of this article on Hacker News.

  4. Had I not tried this recipe I would never have believed this. These are DELICIOUS. The texture, I admit, is a little different but for us carnivores craving pancakes these are GREAT!!!! The cook time will vary depending on your griddle. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

  5. Glad I tried them! I used no sweetener (doing Carnivore) and I used Knox gelatin(but will order the beef gelatin for future recipes). They turned out perfect and were great with only butter on them. I'm a huge fan, your ACV video got me off a 15 year Nexium prescription last January. Will always be grateful!

  6. This looks delicious. I really like your and your children's reviews and taste tests. I know it will be a legit review or reaction. You reckon this would cook ok in the Dash Mini Waffle Maker or the Dash Mini Pancake Maker? Or in a Belgian Waffle Maker? Thank you for all that you do.

  7. very good and inventive idea thank you. I assume this is low to no carb and no sugar. I will need to research more into the simulated sugar options and the syrup contents more. the other ingredients are awesome to incorporate. I have been keto for only a few months. thank you again your video was very well made and instructions were perfect. God bless,
