Can you bake a cake without using sugar? Today we are testing out Natvia (a blend of erythritol and stevia) in a cake against sugar in a cake. What are the differences? How does it taste?

  1. I tried adding stevia (for baking) instead of sugar and it was NOT GOOD!!! Everything was wrong with it from the taste and the outside texture to the crumb inside. It was flat, dense and just plain inedible!! I threw it away in the trash. Might there be a happy medium – adding BOTH stevia AND sugar to see if that improves the final outcome?
