  1. Just made this last night and it's seriously so good and hearty! You really don't have to heat up extra chicken stock in another pot, just fill your pot up with it at the beginning or add more (room temp) after the rice cooks.

Super important thing I discovered, MAKE SURE you scrape the bottom edges of the pot, that's where my rice stuck to!

At first I was like "where'd the rice go" and the first few servings had very little until I realized my ladle wasn't getting that bottom edge. I figured this recipe would need some other seasonings, but it's seriously perfect as is. 10/10 I'm going to make it again soon!

  2. Chef Pasquale I love watching your videos and making your recipes. You remind me of a cross between my father and my uncle! Neither one could barely boil a pot of water! I was wondering if you could share the information on the sauce-pot used to cook the cabbage roll soup. It looks like an All Clad, but I am not sure and would like to know the volume. Thank you and keep up the good work!

  3. I had a leftover carcass and pan drippings from a roasted duck in the freezer and some aromatics in the fridge that needed to be used up, so I made a duck stock to use in this recipe in place of store-bought chicken broth. I also used mild Italian turkey sausage, because it's what I had on hand. It turned out really well, but it was a little spicy for some family members with the full teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Next time I think I'll cut the amount of red pepper flakes down to half a teaspoon at the most if I'm using mild sausage or 1/4 teaspoon with hot sausage. A little goes a long way, but it will probably mellow a bit after a day in the fridge. Thanks for sharing this recipe. It's a keeper.

  4. Update: I made this soup yesterday and it's absolutely delicious! A bit spicy but OMG, A definite must try!
I encourage anyone that loves cabbage, tomatoes and a little heat to make this.
P.S. I omitted the rice and made it keto. So, imagine how good it is WITH rice! Lol. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
